Today's entry level performance carries yesterday's trickle down advancements. The Rockhopper 29er brings with her great leaps in welding, size-specific design and powerful disc brakes. Clearing the way for years of exuberant riding.
A quiet performer, the Rockhopper's butted, premium 'A1' aluminium frame provides an exemplary platform for the remainder of the bike to build upon. The top tube and down tube are hydro-formed to keep weight low and strength high. Standover height kept low for bikes of this nature and proportion. Slick internal cable routing and dropper-post compatibility round off this robust, well performing chassis.
Each frame sized is specifically combined with size-orientated components, notably wheel size for consistent ride experience regardless of size, for every rider. That too of the Suntour fork, offering size-specific spring rates and travel, while being able to be locked out. Regardless of your size, there's a Rockhopper for you with sweet-spot fitting and makes for the right tool for the job!
Mechanical disc brakes are a sound entry point into the world of disc braking. Disc brakes provide greater power, modulation (consistent engagement across the lever pull) and longevity.
The 2x9-speed MicroShift drivetrain provides a range of gearing for every terrain, every gradient. Crisp and reliable shifting for trouble-free days out on trail. The rear derailleur is clutch-equipped, keeping the chain quiet and from being dropped.
Modern wide rims (25mm internal diameter) clear the way for running lower tyre pressures and increased traction. These 27.5" (650B) wheels accelerate fast and are agility through tight corners, making for a fun and playful bike.
