This newsletter is a bit late, but for good reasons, mainly doing a bit more riding with the better weather. Even off road is great at present - make the most of Kahuterawa while the tracks are good and the legal machinery of a resource consent run its course prior to the beginning of logging. If this is news to you, contact the Manawatu Mountain Bike Club, they are liaising with Council Staff.
There's lots to look forward to with the better weather and longer days: the Day-Night Thriller, Whaka100 and Huka Challenge on the Mt Bike calendar; and The Tour de Manawatu, Round Taupo, K2 on the Road calendar. The new 2010 range of bikes is becoming available with some exciting new brands and models at the entry level through to developments in components and bikes at the top level.
Check out our special subscriber offer below on pre-season overhauls in the workshop.
We look forward to seeing you soon.
Cheers from Phil and the team at Crank It Cycles: Ritchie, Paul, Rebecca, James and Linda.

Subscriber Spring Overhaul Offer
It's spring, the days are getting longer and you're going to be asking more of your bike as you build up the base for the rides and events you plan to do this season. After a winter of neglect, it's a great time to give your bike a "spring clean". We're making it easy by helping you to take advantage of the end of our "quiet season". From now on it pays to book ahead for workshop service, especially leading up to major events.
We're offering our premium Overhaul Service, valued at $160, for only $100! This offer is for September only. Our premium service covers labour and lubricants, is a full overhaul and comprises
- Gear and Brake Adjustments
- Wheel truing
- Cleaning of the drive train
- Disassembly and re-packing of bearings where possible, otherwise replacement where necessary.
- Complete bike wash and polish
- Installation of new grips or tape
Parts are extra and you will be given an estimate when the bike is checked in and we call if there are any items required or recommended which were not covered.
This service is particularly recommended if your bike is more than 2 years old or if it has been ridden a high distance (over 10,000 km). Attention to periodic maintenance can dramatically extend the life of your bike and its components, as well as ensuring it is safe.
This offer ends on Wednesday 30th September. Be in quick before the peak season demand and be ready for the summer! Call the shop on 358 9810 or send an e-mail to make your booking now.
