We're well into March now and most people (and their bikes) have recovered from the Karapoti Classic and Iron Man events. Both were held under tough conditions, so congratulations to all who completed these. Steve and Phil both had minor mechanical issues with their bikes due to the gruelling conditions, which lead to longer than expected times. Others though, including Rebecca's partner Rob, acheived a personal best time.
The Oceania Mountain Bike Champs have just taken place in Oz, and the kiwis have excelled again, with local rider Matthew Waghorn coming in 2nd in Under 19 men, less than a minute down on Kiwi pocket rocket Anton Cooper. Matthew would appear to be a strong contender for the Kiwi squad for the World Champs again, so we wish him all the best. For a report and results, see Cycling News.
