Crank It Cycles mechanic, elite mountain biker, and driving force behind the "Aunt Betty's Racing" Mountain Bike team, Mark "Cabin" Leishman bounced back from cracked ribs in a pre season event to finish 5th in the first round of the National Mt Bike XC series. The next weekend he won the Matarangi Intrigue endurance event in Coromandel flew to Dunedin the next day to finish 4th in the 2nd round.
The following weekend he won the National title in the Hillclimb event on his ultralight Giant full suspension bike. A 5th in round 3 of the National XC series at Rotorua earned Cabin an invitation to join the NZ team in the 07 Oceania Games.

With two more 5th placings to his credit, Cabin came a creditable 4th in the National XC Series.
His main focus though is the NZ X-Terra event in April, followed by the Worlds in October.
