For those who haven't seen the public notices in the paper recently, you can now make a submission to the Kahurangi National Park management plan partial review.

The matters identified for the partial review are:

• Consideration of mountain biking access on the following tracks: the Heaphy, Flora Saddle to Barron Flat (Flora car park to Upper Takaka Valley), Kill Devil (adjacent to Uruwhenua Road, Upper Takaka), and Lake Sylvester.
• Consideration of private accommodation on the Heaphy Track.
• Access provisions for aircraft.
• Current hunting access restrictions.
• Horse riding concessionaire access to the northern part of the Park near Puponga.

To make a submission will take you about 5 minutes.

You will find an email address there to send your submission to.

Submissions must be sent before 4pm on Monday, 6 August 2007.

So, if you want to be able to legitimately ride the Heaphy track again, here is an opportunity to do something about it!
